Social media getting extremely popular with younger generation

According to a recent survey data Twitter is more popular among younger lots, than those who are 49+. The survey is an indicator of the increasing popularity of Twitter in the past few months. Adult Twitter users have increased to 13% from just 9% in November 2010. It also indicated that overall adult population on Twitter in the age group of 25 to 44 has shown a notable growth since late 2010. More than half of Twitter users were the ones who used Twitter through their cellphones. The non-whites (African Americans) were found to be the major users of the social media giant.

Who is Using Twitter

Nearly one quarter of online African-Americans use Twitter, with one in ten doing so on a typical day. Twitter is doing a lot of things to make it more user-friendly and enjoyable. It is rumored that they are also going to launch their own photo services and they recently acquired the popular third-party client TweetDeck, which offers a multi-pane view, making for a richer Twitter experience than what Twitter offers at present. They’re also innovating and doing more to get users to find accounts to follow, giving them a reason to keep using Twitter.
