Google+’s Onslaught Against Facebook and Twitter

Google+ is creating waves in the world of Social Media, as it surpassed a user base of 20 million recently. It is unimaginable for a site which is officially not yet announced and is around there for just one month. The terrific and interesting competition is about to take place soon as Google is directly competing with Facebook the market leader. Most of the people who have joined Google+ are already the members of Facebook and Twitter. The pace and speed with which Google+ is growing is quite surprising as people who were already there on some of the social media, expressed in some surveys that they don’t have the time to go for any other Social Media.

Google is in fact doing a benchmarking of all the good features of other social networking sites. For example though its look is more like Facebook, but people are mostly using it like Twitter. It is also offering a rather intimate interface, may be the reason is that it is still new and has lesser number of members. But experts claim that this “intimacy” factor will continue to exist for a while. The pace of switching to Google+ will become faster as more and more people flock it to it, as people follow global trends and what their friends are doing. It is definitely going to be a serious blow to Facebook.
Signs of dissent are already there as people are getting frustrated with Facebook over privacy issues and “too much freedom of expression” that hurts some groups and communities. It is like a soccer match where an aggressive newcomer is pitted against a formidable team and the strong team will never easily succumb to the onslaught. Facebook and Twitter will do everything possible to retain their customers. It is a game of customer satisfaction after all.
