It is officially been declared that Yahoo search will be powered by Bing now, an indication of which was made last year when Microsoft and Yahoo signed a deal. The partnership may be taken as an effort by both to maintain their position in search engine market which is currently being dominated by Google.
Yahoo search results will now accompany a caption “Powered by Bing” at the bottom of the page. Currently the changes are visible for the search results in English within the United States and Canada only but other languages are going to be added soon.
There is also likelihood of change in sponsored results which may shift to Microsoft’s AdCenter as the two companies are working on it.
The move may take the competition among search engines to a higher level and may witness new developments as Google will surely try to keep its position stable.
