Backlinks have acquired such great importance that they are considered as an important part of Search Engine Optimization. Anybody having knowledge of SEO can tell the importance of backlinks for a website and its search engine ranking.
What are backlinks?
Links coming to a website from other sites are referred to as backlinks or inbound links.
Backlinks and SEO:- In order to find the relevancy of a website for the users, search engines consider the number of backlinks coming to it from other related websites. If a website has substantial amount of quality backlinks, search engine give its high rank. By quality backlinks here it is meant that links must come from websites having relevant and meaningful content. On the other hand, a website having huge number of inbound links from irrelevant websites, will not be considered by search engines as being useful to the users and thus will not be ranked.
Thus Backlinks are of high importance for SEO, the ultimate aim of which is to attain top rankings in search engines for websites. Thus a webmaster must continuously practice link building to develop quality inbound links.
